Hello Everyone! I would love to take this opportunity to intrude myself as your representative for Northern Ontario and a delegate for Miss Teen Canada-World 2013. This February, I participated in Cochrane’s annual princess pageant and was honored with the title of Cochrane’s 50th Miss Chimo (Miss Cochrane) and Miss Public Speaker. Through my participation in this pageant, I got to do take part in many activities throughout my community and meet many new people. During our annual winter carnival, I participated in a pancake eating contest, a wing-a-thong, a princess ball, a smash-up derby and I even jumped into ice cold lake Commando during the polar bear dip. Participating in the Miss Chimo pageant gave me a taste of the world of pageantry and I was instantly hooked! This pageant allowed me to grow as an individual, gain real life experience through interviews and public speaking as well as help make a difference in my community with fundraising for our local food bank. Three months later, I participated in a regional pageant called Miss North Ontario Regional Canada in Sudbury. Forty two other delegates and I spent the weekend preparing for pageant night and participating in a variety of workshops. This pageant allowed me to fundraise for Northern Ontario Families of Children witch is charitable organization based in Sudbury that is committed to helping families across our Northern Ontario who have a child diagnosed with cancer through support groups, bursaries and a variety of other support programs. This year, we collectively raised a total of forty six thousand dollars to help support this charity. On the final night, I was crowned Miss North Ontario Regional Canada 2013. I also won best in interview, first runner up for public speaking, first runner up for scholastics test and was a finalist for beauty with a purpose which is an award based on community involvement and volunteer work. I am now extremely excited to have been given the opportunity to be selected as a finalist for Miss Teen Canada-world 2013 and look forward to this amazing experience!
